Successful transition to green aluminum at the Griesser plant in Nenzing

From classic wing shutters to stylish sliding shutters – since last September, almost the entire range of window shutters produced at the Griesser site in Nenzing has been made from green aluminum. Thanks to this more sustainable aluminum, which is produced in Europe using renewable energy, the Swiss sun protection specialist will save 30% CO2 per kg of aluminum in the future, taking another big step towards its net-zero goal.

The design of the new Blumer Lehmann headquarters combines functionality, identity, and atmosphere. The inspiring and sustainable timber construction is characterized by open meeting areas and low-tech air conditioning, for which the well-designed natural and technical sun protection also played a key role. Griesser equipped the impressive new building with Soloscreen facade awnings and G2000 patio awnings, thereby contributing significantly to the modern aesthetics and sustainability of the building.

Advanced Griesser solar shading for a historic former convent and future art school in Spain

Griesser has provided its Solomatic® venetian blinds to help revitalize the historic building, which is now to be home to a school of arts and crafts.
The former San Agustín Convent in Badajoz in southwest Spain has served many purposes – as a barracks, a courthouse and a school – since it lost its religious role back in 1855. Prior to this, too, the convent had played a vital part in the economic and social life of the city, which lies close to the Portuguese border.

Green aluminum gives Griesser window shutters more sustainable credentials

Griesser, the leading European provider of solar shading solutions, is setting new sustainability benchmarks by making use with immediate effect of the green aluminum which it recently presented in its window shutter product range. By using this more sustainable aluminum (which is made in Europe) in selected wing shutter models, Griesser will substantially reduce its corporate carbon footprint. The new green-aluminum window shutter products will be manufactured at the recently expanded state-of-the-art facility in Nenzing (Austria), where the company’s further window shutter models are also produced.

Griesser’s innovative new facility at its Nenzing site comes into operation

Following successful trial operations, Griesser is to immediately commence production as scheduled in the recently-completed new facility at its Nenzing (Austria) site. The innovative new building, work on which began in July 2023 and was completed after around a year of construction, utilizes the latest technologies which enable most of its energy needs to be met with self-generated electricity. The new Nenzing building also offers enhanced working conditions and creates new jobs.
